Duck and other festive dishes in the air fryer

Air fryers are the go to cooking appliance at the moment, they cut down on cooking time and energy use – plus save space in your oven which is very handy when cooking large dishes for a crowd. Chef Simon has put together a guide for cooking duck and other festive dishes this Christmas in your air fryer.

Air fryer Duck fat roast potatoes:

  1. 1. Peel and chop the potatoes. Place into a pan and cover with water.
  2. 2. Boil for 8-10 till cooked but not breaking apart. Drain and leave to steam in a colander.
  3. 3. Heat air fryer to 180C.
  4. 4. Melt 2tbsp of duck fat in the microwave or saucepan. In a bowl mix the drained potatoes with the melted duck fat, garlic clove, rosemary sprig and salt.
  5. 5. Add the potatoes to the air fryer and cook for 15 mins then give them a shuffle and return to cook for a further 10-15 mins until golden and crispy.

Cook for approx 15 mins at 180C depending on size and air fryer.

  • Air fryer roasted carrots and parsnips

  • Cut then drizzle with oil, salt, pepper, herbs and honey. Cook for approx. 20 mins at 180C until soft.
  • Air fryer stuffing balls

  • Cook for approx 15 mins at 180C depending on size and air fryer.

Air fryer mince pies

Warm up shop bought (or homemade) mince pies for 5 minutes at 180C.

Air fryer turkey toastie

Air fryers are easy to make a leftover turkey toastie. Simply layer up your sandwich with turkey, cheese, cranberry sauce and any other leftovers. Then just heat in the air fryer for about 5 mins at 180C till the cheese has melted and bread is nicely toasted.
