Al Fresco dining

When the British weather allows it is great to eat outdoors, this needn’t mean firing up the BBQ – simply cooking up a tasty, casual supper and enjoying it ‘al fresco’ makes a welcome change to the weekly routine. We have put together a collection of our more casual, informal recipes that we think would work well for ‘al fresco’ dining.

  1. Bourbon BBQ wings with sweet potato fries – this tasty product is now available to purchase in Waitrose stores. The wings are slow cooked with a sticky sweet Bourbon BBQ glaze and are very moreish! If you would like to have a go at creating your own version of this product have a look at the recipe here. The sauce combines different store cupboard ingredients with bourbon whiskey. Serve with sweet potato fries and a colourful salad.
  2. Our poussin are so flavoursome, this zesty recipe combines the poussin with lemon, garlic and thyme and can be finished off on the BBQ. The hardest part of the recipe is spatchcocking the bird which requires a very sharp knife or scissors. To see the full instructions click HERE
  3. This orange chilli half duck is a modern twist on more traditional flavours that are commonly associated with duck. Rub herbs and spices onto the duck before cooking and then 15 minutes before the end of cook time pour a sweet chilli and orange mix over the top of the duck. Serve with roasted Mediterranean vegetables. To see the recipe click HERE.

Fingers crossed the weather stays dry!
