Finding the perfect wine for your duck recipe

For our latest competition we have teamed up with our friends over at Naked Wines to give you the chance to win 1 of 24 cases of wine, enter the competition

They have also been sharing their top duck and wine pairings with us, read on to get some brilliant tips for your next dinner party…

One of the most popular recipes on our website is a twist on the traditional Duck a’l’orange dish Gressingham Duck breasts with a simple honey and orange glaze. Naked Wines recommend pairing this with The Small and Small Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018 as it has zingy, tropical, lemon and lime flavours that would compliment the citrus sauce finishing off this duck dish perfectly.

Duck can be a rich meat so it’s good to serve a wine with some acidity and freshness which a Pinot Noir would provide. Our duck legs in plum recipe is the perfect match for the Stepp Pinot Noir *8* 2017 .

Our development chef has perfected a new duck confit recipe that is much quicker to prepare and cook than the traditional French method that takes over 24 hours of marinading and cooking. The Benjamin Darnault Minervois 2018 is a smooth and dangerously quaffable classic match for the confit that is a favourite thanks to its rich, ripe, blackcurrant and mulberry fruit bomb of flavour that explodes on your tongue.

Naked Wines make drinking great wine easy – they only focus on the most important things: great grapes and great winemaking. They are giving everyone that enters our win 1 of 24 cases of wine competition an exclusive voucher for £75 off a case of premium wines worth £114.99!
