Quality Assurance Manager

Location Redgrave/ Debach
Hours 42.5 per week


1. JOB PURPOSE

To manage and communicate with the PC/CA Operatives on a daily basis to ensure effective monitoring, recording and corrective actioning of all production line processes and to provide holiday cover when necessary.

2. KEY RESULTS AREAS AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES

To manage, check and audit all process documentation to ensure this is completed correctly and in accordance with site quality procedures.

To audit and record findings of inspections and report any non-conformances.

To ensure that any corrective actions are followed up and closed out.

To ensure that products meet customer and Gressingham specifications.

Completion and registration of the ALS system for micro testing

To ensure Water testing is completed and sent to laboratory and documented and update Quality/Technical Manager

Ensure completion of any required customer/ factory samples

Signing off customer samples to ensure specification and quality is met

Complete monthly traceability incorporating, Red Tractor, OF&G, Free Range, RSPCA, Gluten Free, British flag (twice a year on schedule) and mass balance

Managing and training requirements of quality leaders

Manage and Support Quality Assurance Supervisor to ensure all PC/CA and key skill staff receiving CCPs, GMP training and any other primary skills training that may be required by their duties.

Ensure also that such skills are maintained up-to-date Management of product records and quality controls

Ensure the supply of the weekly price list and update of promotions

Supporting production team ( non – conformances, quarantine, internal specification, process control)

Conduct regular audits ( GMP, Canteen, Fabrication, Foreign body, Internal audits)

Conduct regular internal audits of the QA Operatives documentation, to ensure all produced paperwork can be show in a court of law without challenge

Inform Technical Manager weekly of any issues, deviations, KPI’s and reviews.

Help ensure staff adhere to stated hygiene and personal hygiene policies.

Assist in preparation of, and compliance during customer visits and audits within the factory.

Aid in formulation, and training of new and amended procedures training these out to relevant personnel and auditing to ensure these are adopted and followed.

Manage the work of PC’s & CA’s team with Quality Assurance Supervisor where required to ensure appropriate cover and necessary checks are being completed.

To Manage, support and oversee pre-production checks, ensuring all areas are covered.

To complete background checks on equipment and factory environment to ensure that all comply with requirements, are in good working order and fit for purpose.

3. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, the Quality Assurance Manager is accountable for communicate with Quality Assurance Supervisor and PC/CA’s and to ensure effective monitoring recording and corrective actioning of all production line processes. He/she is also responsible for ensuring the health & safety and welfare of colleagues working on the shop floor within his/her area, checking equipment is fit for purpose and supporting the Compliance auditors, Process controllers and line leaders in their role.

4. FLEXIBILITY
The job holder may be required at any time to perform any reasonable task outside the general provisions of this job description in the pursuance of Good Company practice or need.

The job holder may be required, during peak processing times to work extra or different hours or variable shifts to help meet the needs of the business.

Experienced Farms Office Administrative Assistant


Based at Debach near Woodbridge, Suffolk (rural – own transport required)

Hours - 40 pw (8.30am-5pm with half hour lunch).

This is a good opportunity within our busy Farms Admin Department for a well organised and motivated person with an interest in a proven career in Business Administration.  We are looking for an excellent team player who is committed to maintaining accurate records, supporting data capture and ensuring an efficient admin service to our Farm Managers.

Support and training in place, starting with a Company Induction Programme.

General Farm Poultry worker

We are a looking for a full time (39 hours per week) poultry worker at one of our sites near Woodbridge.  Overtime and weekend work also available at Manager's discretion.  Please note there is no public transport therefore own transport is essential. 

The role is to maintain and improve the high level of poultry welfare.  Please note there is no public transport therefore own transport is essential. Ensure all farm bio-security guidance is followed (different site procedures followed).  To assist with achieving target levels of weights and mortalities as efficiently as possible.  To work to a high and health and safety standard feeding back any ideas for improvement to the site manager and any concerns identified.  Produce all records required in order to provide accurate up to date information.  Work closely with line manager and staff on site to ensure all tasks get carried out efficiently and safely.  Monitor stock control of farm supplies and report and shortage of supplies to site manager.  To work with staff in a positive, professional manner.  To carry out any other tasks relating to poultry farming as the Company may reasonably require.

 

Business Administration Apprentice - Level 2/3

Full Time Poultry Farm Workers (Turkey) Required In Diss, Horsham St Faith & Norwich Areas.  Part Time Position In Norwich Area

We are a looking for a full time (39 hours per week) poultry worker and a part time (30 hours per week over 4 days at our turkey sites across the Norfolk area.  Overtime and weekend work also available at Manager's discretion.  Please note there is no public transport therefore own transport is essential.

HR & Payroll Apprentice - Full time - Redgrave Site

  • This is a good opportunity within our busy HR, Payroll and Training Department for a well organised and motivated person with an interest in HR and payroll Administration.  We are looking for an excellent team player who is committed to maintaining accurate records, supporting data capture and ensuring an efficient admin service to our team.

    Responsible for the following administration within the HR/Payroll Department & Training Department (Training will be provided in all areas)

    • As part of the team to update our time and attendance programme and personnel information on to our HR system, ensuring GDPR compliance.
    • Support the payroll department in administering our weekly payrolls.
    • Maintaining employee personnel records, ensuring right to work checks, driving licence checks and inductions are up to date.
    • Assisting the department in audits and induction days, and assist with recruitment fairs.
    • Updating KPI data on a weekly basis for our factories, and ensuring accurate working time reporting.
    • Liaising with our agencies to ensure personnel paperwork is submitted to the personnel office prior to commencement of work.
    • Organise occupational health appointments, and liaise with our OT support.

    Pay:  (£8.21 ph)


Poultry Handlers

We are currently looking for 3 poultry handler operatives to be based at our Debach site.  Alternative weekly early and late shift operated.

Duties include:- 

  • Work within the team to ensure high welfare practices are maintained at all times.
  • You need to have a calm and good natured temperament.
  • The work involved can be very physically demanding and you therefore should be fit and able to carry out the task.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Work to a high health and safety standard, feeding back any ideas for improvement to the site manager.
  • Maintain and improve on high level of poultry welfare and ensure all bio security guidelines are adhered to.
  • Work closely with line manager and staff on site to ensure all tasks get carried out efficiently and safely.
  • To work with staff in a positive, professional manner and be prepared to support the business in a challenging environment
  • To carry out any other tasks relating to poultry farming as the company may reasonably require.
  • Hours are 39 per week (Mon to Fri).  Weekends will be as and when required according to business needs.
  • Pay rate £8.21 per hour plus a daily catch bonus.  Experience preferred but not necessary, as full training will be given.

System Support Administrator

Main Tasks:

  • Create New products from start to finish (design label, enter product information into FOPS, add to menu, test label and sign off)
  • Learn how to use Menu creator software.

Experience in trouble shooting because most of the breakdowns in the factory can be a list of thing.

Fully Qualified Electrician

Full-time Position - Hourly rate dependant on skills and qualifications

Hours: 45 hours per week (including breaks).  Holiday of 5.6 weeks each holiday year (prorated in first year of employment), inclusive of all public holidays (not including 25th and 26th December and 1st January.

Contributory work place pension included

Own tools are preferred but specialist items can be provided

Principal Accountabilities:

Able to demonstrate a proven track record with (post apprenticeship) experience of planned maintenance in a highly regulated environment.

Isolates defective equipment from power supply, checks visually for faults, tests mechanical parts for faults, isolates the problem areas and take corrective action to repair the problem.

Conducts preventative maintenance on equipment by checking for smooth operation of the same and replacing worn and defective parts.

The installation of electrical systems and associated equipment followed up with the appropriate certification.

Taking an active part in the on call system, which may require the applicant to become an authorised person

Conform to safety rules and apply good electrical and safety practices.

Multi-skilled background with a good understanding of commercial, residential installation – agricultural installation an advantage.

Must be willing to undertake company standard internal workshops & training

Adherence to all current company procedures.

Ensuring continuous improvement and drive for value for money.

Experience of safe working practices

Be able to communicate effectively and have flexible approach to work patterns

You must possess the ability to use your initiative, exercise attention to detail, work as part of a team and independently, have a high standard of organisation, be able to prioritise and work under pressure.

Qualifications

Qualified to NVQ level 3 diploma or equivalent

C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing would be advantageous but not essential

17th Edition as a minimum

First Aid certificates would also be an advantage but not essential as training can be provided.

 DISPATCH ASSISTANT SHIFT
MANAGER

 

OVERALL AIM OF THE JOB: To ensure all products are successfully and efficiently picked and dispatched on time. To receive all chilled & frozen goods in.

Shift: 7 days on 7 days off

MAIN TASKS:

 

  1. Ensure the smooth running of the day to day operations of the Dispatch department at Redgrave.
  2. To manage dispatch staff in a positive, professional manner, ensuring they are motivated, informed and working as efficiently as possible in accordance with working procedures.
  3. Liaise with Sales, and Factory Manager regarding daily orders. 
  4. Ensure orders are picked accurately, on time and are correctly documented.
  5. Check products are correctly dated.
  6. Check products are at correct temperature.
  7. Check that quality of the products, to be dispatched, meet the required standard.  Report any problems regarding quality of any product to Factory Manager & Technical Manager.
  8. Responsible for ensuring all chill and cold stores are clean and tidy throughout the day.
  9. Check daily stock on chilled and frozen products.
  10. Ensure that goods in are correctly documented.
  11. Ensure that returns to production are correctly documented.
  12. Contribute ideas on ways to improve productivity, cost reduction and despatch of product to the customer.
  13. Identify and deliver the on-the-job training required for dispatch staff; liaise with Chilled Warehouse Manager regarding other training needs.
  14. Promote safe work activities by conducting meeting with team members
  15. Maintain all aspects of company policy (as per the Company Handbook).
  16. Any other duties required connected with poultry processing.

Salary:  Starting £25,500 per annum, increasing to £30,000 per annum following a successful 3 month probation period.
