Northern Farms Area Manager – Lincolnshire and Yorkshire

Role:

To support our Company and Contract farms in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire conducting all tasks required in the day to day running of a commercial farm, ensuring the highest level of bird welfare standards and bio security. As Farms Area Manager you will ensure good communication with the farms ensuring they are audit ready and are complying with all our retailer and production standards. You will be a good communicator and able provide guidance and support where required. You should be aware that as the role is involves working from home, you must be a self-motivated person who is capable of working to deadlines and targets set.

Requirements of The Role:

The successful candidate will have excellent time keeping records, have effective communication skills and be confident in talking to all levels within the business. Be able to build a dedicated team through encouragement and support. Strong decision-making skills are necessary, but also be able to ask for guidance and support when required.

• To ensure that stock is grown and maintained to the highest welfare standards whilst maintaining a presentable, and bio secure units.
• To comply with customer and Company requirements on growing standards and staff procedures.
• To ensure the Commercial birds are produced in a manner that results in low mortalities and factory condemnations whilst achieving efficient FCRs and providing accurate live weights.
• To work alongside the HR and Training Teams to support the recruitment, development, management, and retention of staff, whilst promoting a positive outlook and adhering to Company ethos, whilst being responsible for staff and staffing levels, staff wellbeing and being involved in resolving staffing issues/conflicts and leading upon disciplinaries and grievances.
• Keep detailed records of flock performance and update the office as required, send weekly report on farm performance KPI’s.
• Keep the Commercial farms and Managers informed of flock progress, slaughter dates and refilling.
• Strict confidentiality of our growing programs.
• Keep detailed records as highlighted in the farm manual and welfare standards.
• In conjunction with Farm Managers, organise and arrange scheduling of all farm inputs and monthly stock returns.
• Support the farms managers / contract growers with any audits (internal and external), and work alongside the managers / contractors to share best practice across the sites.
• Ensure that safe working practices are maintained across the farms adhering to Company SOPs and HSE best practice.
• Report any issues with inputs affecting quality that could affect bird performance.
• Report machinery and housing defects as they occur in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain machinery and buildings in a good and working condition, as per manufacturers recommendations and Company SOPs.
• Audit catchers and observe and understand catching operation.
• Assist growers with technical aspects, and auto weighers with calibrations and operations.
• Inform HR department on all staffing issues.
