Breeder Farm Assistant Manager – Great Sturton

Job Title:
Breeder Farm Assistant Manage
Reporting to: Breeder Farm Manager

Overall aim of the Job: To carry out all tasks required in the day to day running, whilst maintaining the highest level of bird welfare standards and bio security. As assistant manager ensure the farm is run as efficiently as possible.

Key tasks within the job:
• To maintain and improve the highest welfare standards.
• To assist with achieving target levels of egg production and fertility, as efficiently as possible.
• To work to a high health and safety standard.
• Responsible with the team for the day to day collection, grading and washing of eggs.
• Work with the team to produce all records required in order to provide accurate, up-to-date information.
• Monitor and report any required repairs to buildings and machinery to the Farm Manager ensuring the site operates efficiently and safely.
• Liaise regularly and work alongside the Farm Manager, communicate with site staff and colleagues as appropriate, regarding successes and problems to ensure the consistent flow of information.
• Carry out welfare checks of the site, when required which will include weekends.
• Report any shortage of farm supplies to the Farms Manager.
• Maintain all aspects of company policy on site (as per the Company Handbook)
• Be part of the team Responsible for maintaining the health and welfare of the ducks on site.
• Be Responsible for the running of the farm in the managers absents.
• To carry out any other tasks relating to poultry farming as the company may reasonably require.

Job Type: Permanent

Hours per week:
39 Hours per week plus either alternate weekends or a 6 days on 1 day off Rota to be discussed.

Working Times: Working hours will be approximately 5:00am – 1:30pm, Monday to Thursday 5:00am – 12.30pm Friday and either alternate weekends or 6 days on 1 day off Rota to be discussed.

Pay Rate: £12.75 per hour.

Own transport is essential due to the remote location.
