Job Purpose
To organise and communicate with the QAS Operatives on a daily basis to ensure effective monitoring, recording and corrective actioning of all production line processes and to provide holiday cover when necessary.
Reporting to: Quality Assurance Manager
Direct Reports: Quality Assurers
Working hours: 10am – 7pm

Key results areas and performance measures

As the Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will be expected to:
To check and audit all process documentation to ensure this is completed correctly and in accordance with site quality procedures.
To audit and record findings of inspections and report any non-conformances.
To ensure that any corrective actions are followed up and closed out.
To ensure that products meet customer and Gressingham specifications.
To ensure the correct calibration of temperature probes and scales occur and review and report monthly
Completion and registration of the ALS system for micro testing
To ensure Water testing is completed and sent to laboratory and documented and update Quality/Technical Manager
Ensure completion of any required customer/ factory samples
Signing off customer samples to ensure specification and quality is met
Complete monthly traceability and mass balance incorporating, RTA, Free Range, RSPCA, Gluten Free, British flag (twice a year on schedule) and EU products.
Managing and training requirements of quality leaders                                                                                                                                                  Ensure all QAS and key skill staff receiving CCPs, GMP training and any other primary skills training that may be required by their duties.
Ensure also that such skills are maintained up-to-date Supervision of product records and quality controls.
Ensure the supply of the weekly price list and update of promotions
Supporting production team (non – conformances, quarantine, internal specification, process control)
Conduct regular audits (GMP, Canteen, Fabrication, Foreign body, Internal audits)
Conduct regular internal audits of the QA Operatives documentation, to ensure all produced paperwork can be show in a court of law without challenge.
Inform Technical Manager weekly of any issues, deviations and reviews.
Help ensure staff adhere to stated hygiene and personal hygiene policies.
Assist in preparation of, and compliance during customer visits and audits within the factory.
Aid in formulation, and training of new and amended procedures training these out to relevant personnel and auditing to ensure these are adopted and followed.
Co-ordinate the work of QAS staff where required to ensure appropriate cover and necessary checks are being completed.
To oversee pre-production checks, ensuring all areas are covered.
To carry out GMP audits, following up any non-conformances and actions required with the necessary teams, reporting any issues which cannot be resolved at the time.
To complete background checks on equipment and factory environment to ensure that all comply with requirements, are in good working order and fit for purpose.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Supervisor is accountable for communicate with QAS and to ensure effective monitoring recording and corrective actioning of all production line processes. He/she is also responsible for ensuring the health & safety and welfare of colleagues working on the shop floor within his/her area, checking equipment is fit for purpose and supporting the QAS, Process controllers and line leaders in their role.
The job holder may be required at any time to perform any reasonable task outside the general provisions of this job description in the pursuance of Good Company practice or need. The job holder may be required, during peak processing times to work extra or different hours or variable shifts to help meet the needs of the business.
