Here at Gressingham, we're proud to be part of a region renowned for its beautiful countryside, history, culture and gastro delights.
Closer to home, we're proud to be able to support many local teams, schools and charities in the way of sponsorship and donations. From marathons and desert treks, to rugby clubs and football clubs, to awards of excellence and student sponsorship - it's all going on! This is our way of giving something back to the communities who we live and work alongside, and from whom we are very proud to employ many of our staff.
Every year Gressingham employees choose two charities to raise money for and the funds raised are then doubled by the company's directors. In 2018, the chosen charities were Parkinsons UK and Teenage Cancer Trust.
Various staff fundraising events run throughout the year to get funds for the charities including a monthly lucky square and raffle, the Great Gressingham Bake Off, Outdoor Cinema, Clay shoot and a Golf Day – where one of our engineers raised money by playing his round dressed up as duck!
We regularly sponsor and attend sporting events, one of the most popular is the Woodbridge 10K where a team of runners from Gressingham make their way around the challenging track.
Gressingham also supports local sports teams with banner ads and match ball sponsors. A few to name are Woodbridge Rugby Club, Diss Rugby Club and the Wickham Knights.
Suffolk Food and Drink Fund
Managing Director of Gressingham Foods, William Buchanan is a Founding Partner of the Food and Drink fund. His passion for the local food industry prompted him to lend his personal support to create the fund.
The aim of the Food and Drink Fund is to support charitable activities addressing local needs, particularly those where there is a direct link with food and drink. The Fund is supporting charities, voluntary and community groups throughout Suffolk through a small grants programme.
“It is a unique opportunity to support local communities and is a very targeted approach to connect directly with the people that need the fund’s help and money. Our business was founded in Suffolk so it is a very special place to my family and I”. William Buchanan.
